We're a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Atlanta, GA. We work shoulder to shoulder with local churches, government agencies and businesses to bring food, clothing, prayer and dignity to those living on the streets and to vulnerable families.
Our name, Rescue 2000, marks the year we started. But it's also a calling: to rescue is not to assist, it's to walk with another until they can walk on their own.
We don't wait for the community to come to us. We go where it hurts, month by month, week by week.
Every Saturday
Every Saturday we gather in the heart of Atlanta to serve hot meals, distribute season-appropriate clothing, pray with whoever asks, and connect people to social and health services.
Once a month
The Rescue 2000 Food Bank serves vulnerable Hispanic families. Once a month, at a fixed location in Atlanta, we distribute pantries with fresh produce, non-perishables and essentials.
Through the year
Themed community events across the year: Christmas for kids, back-to-school, health fairs, winter drives and celebrations that build community.

The beginning
A group of believers from Atlanta hit the streets with sandwiches and coffee. That first outing defined the ministry's DNA.
2008
First Food Bank
Facing the economic crisis, the monthly food bank launches for vulnerable Hispanic families.
2015
Strategic alliances
Formal collaborations begin with the City of Atlanta and other churches, under an organisation-to-organisation partner model.

The work continues
Every Saturday on the street, every month at the food bank, and events through the year. The work continues.
